Locum Doctors

We regularly employ locums to ensure that enough doctors are available, especially if one of the partners is away. We try to use the same locums who know us and our patients.

Nursing Staff

Practice Nurse

Sally Castledene

Sally is our practice nurse. She deals with dressings, removal of sutures, ear syringing, smears, childhood immunisations and Travel Vaccinations. Sally’s clinical interests are: COPD/asthma reviews, childhood immunisations, travel vaccinations, family planning, assisting in minor surgery, tissue viability etc.

Healthcare Assistants

Ankita Kumar & Tara Gurung

The Healthcare assistants deal with Adult Vaccinations (B12, Vitamin D, Flu, Pneumococcal and Shingles), Venepuncture, NHS Health checks, Pre-Diabetes and Diabetes Health Checks, ECG, Blood pressure monitoring & Carers Health checks.


Ridma Gamage

Ridma is our trained phlebotomist, who takes bloods for Adults & children over 12 years of age.

Occasionally the nurses take triage calls; if they require a doctor’s advice they will speak to the appropriate Clinician and get back to you later. Please provide a contact telephone number.

Practice Team

Practice Manager

Mrs Kamini Patel is the practice manager and is responsible for overall general administration and organisation of the practice. You are welcome to contact her regarding any major problems relating to the practice, or suggestions for improving our service to you, the patient. It is preferable to put these in writing unless you have a query that requires immediate attention.

The Admin / Secretarial Team

Bakula, Tara & Sue are there to provide all the essential administrative services for the practice.

The Reception Team

Our receptionists are available to assist GPs, nurses and patients. They arrange appointments, check in patients on their arrival and take requests for repeat prescriptions. Inevitably, it is sometimes necessary to make personal enquiries so please do not be offended by this. Their job can be very demanding – please help them to help you!

Healthcare Team

Health Visitors

Health visitors are qualified nurses and have additional training in child health and development, will monitor your child’s growth and development, answer any child health queries and help mothers to cope with children under five, advising on things like hygiene, safety, feeding and sleeping. They also co-ordinate child immunisation programmes and organise special clinics or drop-in centres.

Health visitors can also provide you with help and information regarding such issues as emotional problems, relationship difficulties, family planning and health problems and advise on healthy eating, keeping warm and getting the right exercise. Click here for details of local services.

Community District Nurses

There are several district nurses who are employed by the CCG attached to the practice. They provide nursing care and advice to the housebound and to patients recently discharged from hospital. The district nursing team can be contacted through reception.


The practice has in-house dietician available for patients to discuss their diet and Lifestyle needs. The appointments can be booked by reception staff.
