Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

PLEASE ALLOW TWO FULL WORKING DAYS (48 HOURS) FOR A REPEAT PRESCRIPTION

Please do not make an appointment with a doctor for repeat prescriptions and allow sufficient time to order your prescription before your current medication runs out,
especially on Public or Bank Holidays.
Repeat prescription requests should be made using the right-hand side of your prescription by ticking the items you need. If you have more than one repeat
prescription, please try and order all your items together. The request can then be posted to us or left in the post box in the entrance of the practice or you can order
your prescriptions online.
Your new prescription will be normally be ready for collection in two working days.
Prescriptions are also available on EPS (Electronic Prescribing Service) which sends the prescription directly to the Pharmacy ready for collection.
If you wish someone else to collect your repeat prescription please sign the below form and forward it to the practice.

CONSENT FORM FOR PRESCRIPTIONS

Long-Term Medication

You will be required to have annual reviews if you are on long term medication and if needed to see a doctor every few months so your condition and medication can
be reviewed.
Please let our reception staff know if your medication has been changed following a hospital visit.

If you get regular prescriptions, the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) may be able to save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP.

EPS makes it possible for your prescriptions to be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.

Choosing a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to process your EPS prescription is called nomination. This means you’ll no longer have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice – instead, you can go straight to the nominated pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor to pick up your medicines or medical appliances.

Because your pharmacist has already received your electronic prescription, they may be able to prepare your items in advance, so you just have to pick it up with no extra wait. However, this depends on the capacity of pharmacists on the day, and may not be possible all the time.

Warfarin Medication

Any prescription requests for warfarin require an INR level from the patient which is found in the patients yellow book. When requesting Warfarin please bring your INR reading, as clinicians will not process the prescription without INR reading.

You may be able to order or cancel your repeat prescriptions online.
